Sara Copeland, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
To me, therapy is about growth and change. This growth and change come about through talking and working together on the issues that you are dealing with – be it depression, abuse, anxiety, or addiction. I believe my role as a therapist is to help you see your goals clearly, organize a plan of action and then to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing.
I have been a therapist for 6 years working with adults in individual and group therapy modalities. My experience includes working in a psychiatric hospital, addiction treatment centers and a crisis stabilization unit for severe and persistent mental illness. I believe that regardless of what setting I am in; utmost importance needs to be given to the dignity of the individual and honoring your life story and experience. You are a person made in the image of God and are worthy because of that.
No matter what your story may be, I believe that hope, healing and change are possible. Though clinically trained, my heart is for Biblical Counseling and I am working towards completing the Foundations of Biblical Counseling program offered by the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation’s School of Biblical Counseling (www.ccef.org). Using the message of the Bible to help us see ourselves in God’s story brings clarity to the vast array of issues we face. My aim will be to help bring Scripture to life for you in your own story and see how God speaks to us in the midst of our troubles and provides comfort, wisdom and healing.
